Binpeek Privacy Policy
Binpeek is a storage bin finder for iPhone and iPad, built and published by JC Mobile App Studio LLC. This policy covers the Binpeek app and supplements the studio privacy policy.
Short version
- Binpeek has no accounts and no server of ours. We never receive your bins, photos, or searches.
- We run no analytics and no advertising. There are no third-party SDKs in the app.
- Photos of your bins are recognized with Apple Intelligence, on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Private Cloud Compute processes a photo only to answer that request; Apple does not keep it and cannot read it, and it never reaches us. If Private Cloud Compute is unavailable, recognition runs on your device.
- The live camera view in Peek is processed on your device to read labels. Camera frames are never saved or sent anywhere; only a photo you choose to take for a bin is kept.
- Your bins are stored on your device and, when iCloud sync is on, in your private iCloud database. You can turn sync off in Settings; bins then stay on this device only.
- Household sharing uses iCloud sharing. You invite each person with a six-character code; you choose whether they can edit or only view, and you can remove them at any time.
- Spotlight and Siri results are built from your bins on your device by iOS.
- Printed labels and NFC tags you write contain only the bin's number, never its contents. An NFC tag holds a link like jcmobileappstudio.com/apps/binpeek/b/BP-0007; tapping it on a phone without Binpeek opens this website, which logs nothing about the tag.
- Settings shows our other apps by asking Apple's public App Store directory for their names and icons. That request carries only the app IDs, nothing about you.
Permissions
Camera, to read labels and photograph what is inside a bin. NFC, only while writing a tag you asked for. Photo library, only when you choose a photo. None of these are used for anything else.
Household invite codes
When you make an invite code, Binpeek stores one record in the app's public iCloud database: the code itself, a one-time iCloud sharing link, and the time it expires. iCloud also attaches an anonymous, app-specific ID for the person who made the code, so that only they can cancel it. The record holds no name, email address, phone number, or bin content. The link works for one person, once, and stops working after 24 hours. Binpeek deletes the record when the code is used or cancelled, or the next time the owner opens the household screen after it expires. Who joined is kept by iCloud sharing in your private iCloud, not by us. This anonymous ID is the "User ID" on Binpeek's App Store privacy label; it is used only to make sharing work, never for tracking or advertising.
Children's privacy
Binpeek does not ask for or keep names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, or locations from anyone, including children under 13. The only identifier involved is the anonymous iCloud ID on a waiting invite code, described above, used only to support household sharing and deleted with the code. There is no sign-up, no profile, no chat, and no way to contact other people in the app. Joining a household takes only a code from the household's owner, typed on a device signed in to its own iCloud; Binpeek never asks for or stores a child's name, email, phone number, or location. A household owner decides who joins, what each person can do, and can remove anyone at any time. Parents can manage a child's Apple Account, iCloud, and purchases through Apple's Family Sharing and Screen Time. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Purchases
Binpeek Unlimited is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. Restore purchase asks Apple whether this Apple Account owns the unlock.
Deleting your data
Delete bins in the app, or delete the app. Turning iCloud sync off keeps bins on the device only. To remove everything from iCloud, delete the bins while sync is on, or remove Binpeek's data under iCloud settings on your device.
