My first computer was a Compaq Presario 5000, connected to the world through AOL dial-up, and I have been hooked ever since. Even before that it was cassette and CD players in elementary school. Then came the gadgets: a Zune in high school, an iPod touch, flip phones, a Sidekick, the very first Motorola Droid on Verizon, a Palm Pre Plus, and Windows Phone with its iconic tile interface. When the iPhone 4S finally came to Verizon, I switched and never looked back. Today I'm a Mac user at home and a Windows user at work.

In 10th grade I taught myself to fix computers: updating drivers, doing clean installs of everything from Windows XP to Windows 7, and tinkering with Ubuntu Linux. Before long, family and friends were bringing me their computer problems, and when I didn't know the answer, I went online and figured it out. That habit never left. It's how I build apps and how I write: figure it out for myself, then explain it the way I wish someone had explained it to me.

By day I work in human resources, which is where my workplace-rights writing and the Plantilla app come from. Nights and weekends are for the studio, where every app starts with something I needed in my own life.

If you're new here, start with one of these:

  • DayCast: plan your day, take notes, journal, and track spending in one private app.
  • ChoreSight: family chores with live photo proof and points kids can spend.
  • VeraCast: weather that talks like a person, with Vera dressed for the day.
  • WavCast: podcasts, live radio, and local news in one player.

Spanish is my native language and I'm fully bilingual, which is why several of my apps work in both English and Spanish. Most days I have WavCast playing Los 40 Colombia in the background, and when I'm not building, I'm usually with my dogs, Sophie, Luna and Joy.

I write about consumer tech and gadgets, on-device AI, long-term investing, digital privacy, and your rights at work, and I keep it plain, honest, and free of hype. When a piece touches money or health, I stick to general information and point you to a professional for decisions about your own situation.

The picture books started the same way the apps did: something was explained badly, so I explained it better, for a smaller reader. They're on Amazon in print and Kindle, and several of them pair with an app in the lineup.
