Talewright Privacy Policy

Talewright is designed so your stories stay yours. This policy explains, plainly, what Talewright does and does not collect.

Short version

• We do not run analytics. We have no idea how you use the app.
• There are no accounts. You never give us a name, email, or password.
• Your adventures, choices, characters, and any custom story prompts live on your device. They are never sent to us. If you use iCloud, saved stories sync privately to your own iCloud account through Apple, which we cannot read.
• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers.
• We never sell or share your data. We do not have it to sell.

Where your data lives

Everything you create in Talewright is stored locally on your iPhone. If you are signed in to iCloud, your saved stories also sync through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account, so they appear on your other devices and can be restored. This uses Apple's encrypted iCloud infrastructure, governed by Apple's privacy terms. We do not operate any server of our own, and we cannot read your iCloud data. Deleting a saved tale in the app removes it; deleting the app removes the local copy from that device.

Apple Intelligence (on-device AI)

Stories are generated by Apple's on-device language model (the Foundation Models framework) running entirely on your iPhone. Your prompts and the generated text never reach a cloud model, and we never see them. On hardware without Apple Intelligence, Talewright plays curated scripted campaigns instead.

Scene illustrations

When you have Premium and scene illustrations are enabled, images are generated on your device using Apple's Image Playground (ImageCreator). These images are created and stored locally. Nothing is sent to us.

Subscriptions

Talewright Premium is a subscription billed through Apple's App Store at $1.99 per month or $14.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial on the yearly plan (prices may vary by region). Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or Apple Account. We receive only the anonymous subscription status needed to unlock Premium on your device. Subscription status is stored on your device.

Children

Talewright is a general entertainment app and is not directed to children under 13. Because we do not collect any information, we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our servers. To remove your content, use "Delete all saved adventures" in Settings or delete the app. If you are covered by the CCPA / CPRA, GDPR, or a similar law, the same applies: we have no personal data of yours, because we do not collect it.
