Normally an Apple deals roundup is just a list. This one comes with a clock on it. On June 17, Apple CEO Tim Cook told the Wall Street Journal that price increases are now unavoidable, because the cost of memory and storage chips has spiked into what he called a hundred-year flood. Apple has been absorbing those costs to shield customers, but says that is no longer sustainable. Full honesty, I am not an Apple-only person, I genuinely like Android too, and I wrote up the Pixel and Samsung Prime Day deals as well, because the best phone is the one that fits how you live. The price-increase story is not Apple-only either, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony, and Dell have all raised prices on the same memory crunch. So whichever side you are on, the takeaway is the same, if you were going to upgrade an aging device this year anyway, doing it during this sale is the value play.

Buy the thing that replaces something that is actually failing you, skip the rest, and check the live price before you check out. Prime Day ends June 26. The deals are real, the price increases coming behind them are real too, and the smart move is to let those two facts make an easy decision easier, not to talk you into something you did not need.
