Samsung's foldables are coming next month, and there are three of them this time.

With Apple raising prices on its slabs today, the timing of Samsung's next folding phones is interesting. Here is a plain preview, with the usual caveat that this is pre-announcement.

Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked is widely reported for July 22, 2026, in London. The headline is that the company is expected to show three foldables this year instead of the usual two: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a new wider model being referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. Everything below is based on leaks and reporting, not an official announcement, so hold it loosely.

If the schedule holds, pre-orders should open right after the event, with devices shipping in early August. One thing worth flagging: there has been chatter that Samsung may eventually wind down the Flip line, which would make the Z Flip 8 a notable one for clamshell fans. Treat that as a rumor until Samsung says otherwise.

Foldables are still a premium niche, but they are where the interesting hardware is happening while traditional phones iterate slowly. With Apple just raising Mac and iPad prices over a memory shortage that touches the whole industry, it will be worth watching whether Samsung's foldable prices climb too, or whether the company holds the line to win switchers. We will know on July 22.

Details here reflect leaks and reporting as of June 25, 2026, and could change before or at the event. I will update once Samsung makes it official.
