ChoreSight Privacy Policy

ChoreSight helps a household assign chores and verify they are done with a live photo. To do that, the app uses accounts and syncs your household's data across devices in real time. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it is stored, and your choices, in plain language. We do not run third-party ad tracking or advertising SDKs.

Short version

• We collect only what's needed to run the app: your email, display name, your household's chores, and the proof photos you submit.
• Proof photos are used only for chore verification inside your household.
• Proof photos are automatically deleted from our servers 30 days after they are submitted.
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising, and we never sell your data.
• You can delete your account and profile at any time in the app.

What we collect

• Account information, the email address and display name you provide when you sign up, or that Sign in with Apple returns.
• Household data, the household name, join code, member roles, and the chores you create.
• Chore proof photos, the live photos captured in the app to verify a chore was completed.
• Push token, a notification token so we can alert you about chores and reviews.
• Account identifier, an ID used to associate the above with your account.

How we use it

We use this information solely to operate ChoreSight, authenticating you, syncing your household's chores in real time, delivering completion photos to your household's admin for review, sending notifications you enable, and verifying your subscription with Apple. We do not use your data to build an advertising profile or to track you across other apps.

Photos and children (COPPA)

Because chore proof photos can include minors, we handle this media carefully:

• A parent or guardian (the household Admin) must grant verifiable parental consent in the app before a minor profile can capture photos.
• Photos are used only for chore verification within your household, never for analytics or advertising.
• Proof photos are automatically deleted from our servers 30 days after submission.
• The camera captures photos live in the app and cannot pull old images from the photo library.

Where your data is stored

ChoreSight uses Google Firebase, Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging, to store and sync your data securely. Data sent between the app and these services travels over encrypted connections. Firebase processes this data on our behalf under Google's privacy terms.

Subscriptions

ChoreSight Premium is an auto-renewable subscription billed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment, we never see your card or Apple ID. Apple provides a transaction receipt we use only to verify your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, ChoreSight uses a push token to alert you when a chore needs attention or a submission is ready for review. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

What ChoreSight does not do

• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers.
• We do not build a profile of you or track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not route your photos to third-party analytics.

Data retention and deletion

Proof photos are deleted from our servers 30 days after submission. You can delete your account and profile at any time in the app, Settings, then Delete Account, which removes your profile and account credentials. You may also email contact@jcmobileappstudio.com to request deletion.

Your rights

If you are a California resident (CCPA / CPRA), a resident of the EU or UK (GDPR), or covered by a similar law, you may request access to or deletion of the personal data we hold. Because ChoreSight lets you delete your account and data directly in the app, that is usually the fastest route. You may also contact us with any request.
