Solecito Privacy Policy
Solecito is a bilingual, Spanish-first "learn to read" app for children on iPad, built and published by JC Mobile App Studio LLC. This policy covers the Solecito app specifically, and supplements the studio privacy policy.
Solecito is built for young children, so privacy is simple by design: the app collects no personal information, has no accounts, and does not connect to the internet to do its job. Everything happens on your device.
Short version
- We do not collect any personal information from you or your child.
- We do not run analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers of any kind.
- Solecito has no user accounts and no sign-in.
- The optional child nickname and all learning progress (stars, unlocked levels, the collection) are stored only on the device. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
- The "read it yourself" check uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. Microphone audio is processed on the device, is not recorded or stored, and is never transmitted.
- We never sell or share any information, because we do not collect any.
Where your data lives
Everything in Solecito, the optional child nickname, learning progress, earned stars and collectibles, and your purchases, is stored locally on the iPad using the device's standard storage. Solecito does not operate any server, database, or cloud account for this content, so none of it syncs to us. Deleting Solecito from the device removes this local data.
No internet connection required
Solecito works fully offline. The app does not make network requests to our servers, contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, and includes no web links that a child can tap. The only servers involved are Apple's own, which handle App Store purchases (below).
Microphone and speech (on-device)
When a child taps the microphone to read a word aloud ("léelo tú"), Solecito uses Apple's on-device speech recognition to gently check pronunciation and offer encouragement. This requires the Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions, which iPadOS asks for the first time the feature is used. The audio is processed on the device, is configured to use on-device recognition, and is never recorded, stored, or sent to us or to any third party. If you decline these permissions, the rest of Solecito works normally.
Purchases
Solecito is free to start, with optional one-time purchases (an "Acceso" unlock and per-world add-ons). These are non-consumable in-app purchases billed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or Apple Account details. Purchase and unlock status is stored on the device. All purchases sit behind a parental gate so a child cannot buy on their own.
Permissions Solecito may request
- Microphone, only for the optional "read it yourself" check. Audio stays on the device.
- Speech Recognition, used on-device to check the child's pronunciation. Nothing is transmitted.
What Solecito does not collect
- We do not collect your or your child's name, email, phone number, location, or contacts.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers.
- We do not create user profiles or use any persistent identifiers for advertising.
- We do not record or retain microphone audio.
Children and COPPA
Solecito is intended for children and is designed for the App Store Kids category. We take children's privacy seriously and have built the app so that no personal information is collected from children at all. Solecito has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party data sharing. The optional nickname a child may enter is stored only on the device and is never transmitted. Purchases and settings are protected behind a parental gate. In keeping with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's Kids Category requirements, we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it promptly, although by design there is nothing for us to receive.
Your rights
Because Solecito stores everything on the device and we hold no account or server data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side. To remove the data, delete the app from the device. If you are a California resident (CCPA / CPRA), a resident of the EU/UK (GDPR), or covered by a similar law, the same applies, and you may contact us with any questions.
Data security
Solecito's data lives on the device, so security depends primarily on Apple's platform protections, your device passcode, and Face ID or Touch ID. We recommend a strong device passcode and two-factor authentication on your Apple Account.
