Frequently asked questions
What is Solecito?
Solecito is a bilingual, Spanish-first "learn to read" app for children. It teaches reading the way teachers do, with explicit phonics: the child hears each letter sound, traces the letter, blends sounds into syllables and words, and then reads little stories. It is organized as 30 levels across 5 worlds that climb a friendly mountain. Everything runs on the device. There is no account, and nothing leaves the iPad.
What ages is it for?
Solecito is designed for early readers, roughly ages 3 to 7, and for anyone beginning to read in Spanish. The pace is gentle and every prompt is spoken aloud, so a child can use it before they can read on their own.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Solecito works fully offline. All sounds, art, lessons, and progress are stored on the device, so there is no internet connection required to play.
How does "léelo tú" (read it yourself) work?
When the child taps the microphone to read a word aloud, Solecito uses Apple's on-device speech recognition to gently check the pronunciation and offer encouragement. The audio is processed entirely on your device. It is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere, and the feature is low-stakes, it only encourages and never blocks progress.
Is there a parental gate?
Yes. In keeping with Apple's Kids Category guidelines, purchases and settings sit behind an adult gate, a simple math problem, so a child cannot make a purchase or change settings on their own.
What does Solecito cost?
Solecito is free to start, the first levels are free to play. A one-time Acceso purchase ($7.99) unlocks the rest of World 1 and all of World 2. Worlds 3, 4, and 5 are optional add-ons at $4.99 each. These are one-time purchases, not subscriptions, and they are billed through Apple.
How do I restore my purchases on a new iPad?
Open Settings (the gear icon), clear the adult gate, and tap restaurar compras (restore purchases). As long as you are signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase, everything unlocks.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not the developer. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the Solecito charge, and request a refund.
