Steady Privacy Policy
Steady is a sleep, fatigue, and recovery app for shift workers on iPhone, built and published by JC Mobile App Studio LLC. This policy covers the Steady app specifically, and supplements the studio privacy policy.
Steady is designed so your sleep and schedule stay on your phone. The Fatigue Score, Smart Nap Planner, and coaching are computed on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what Steady does and does not collect.
Short version
- We do not run analytics. We have no idea how you use the app.
- Steady has no user accounts. We never ask for your name, email, or phone number.
- Your shift pattern, sleep logs, naps, and Fatigue Score history are stored on your device. They never sync to a server we control.
- Apple Health is optional. If you turn it on, Steady reads your sleep data from Apple Health to save you logging it by hand. That data stays on your device, and we never see it.
- The Fatigue Score and all coaching are computed on your device.
- We never sell or share your data. We do not have it to sell.
What Steady does not collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not collect your sleep data, shift schedule, or Fatigue Score history.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers.
- We have no servers that store your content.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter or log in Steady, including your shift pattern, manual sleep entries, naps, and your Fatigue Score history, is stored locally on your iPhone. The Fatigue Score, a 0 to 10 number combining your cumulative sleep deficit, hours awake, body clock dip, and last shift type, is calculated on your device. Deleting Steady from your device removes the local data.
Apple Health (optional)
You can log sleep manually, or grant Steady permission to read your sleep data from Apple Health (for example, sleep recorded by Apple Watch or iPhone), with both sources merged without duplicates. Health access is requested only if you turn it on, and you can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Health. Health data read by Steady stays on your device, is handled under Apple's HealthKit rules, and is never transmitted to us. Steady does not write data back to Apple Health.
Notifications
If you enable nap notifications and shift reminders, Steady schedules them locally on your device. The content of those notifications is generated on your phone and is not sent to us.
Subscriptions
Steady Pro is an auto-renewable subscription billed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or Apple ID. Apple gives us a transaction receipt that we use only to verify your subscription is active. Subscription status is stored on your device. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.
Diagnostic information
If you opt in via iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports and performance metrics. These reports do not contain your sleep data or identifiers we can link back to you. You can disable this at any time in iOS Settings.
Children
Steady is a general wellness and planning app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Your rights
Because Steady stores your content on your device and we hold no account data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our servers. To remove your data, delete the entries in the app or remove the app from your device. To manage what Steady can read from Apple Health, use iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Health.
If you are a California resident (CCPA / CPRA), a resident of the EU/UK (GDPR), or covered by a similar law, the same applies: we have no personal data of yours to provide or delete because we do not collect it. You may still contact us with any questions.
Data security
Because Steady data lives on your device, security depends primarily on Apple's platform protections, your device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and, for any health data, Apple's HealthKit protections. We recommend you enable two-factor authentication on your Apple ID and use a strong device passcode.
A note on health
Steady is a wellness and planning tool, not a medical device. The Fatigue Score is informational. Steady does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you have ongoing sleep problems or safety concerns, talk to a healthcare professional.
